Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle near MacArthur Boulevard in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (August 2, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car near MacArthur Boulevard and Birch Street Thursday afternoon.
The Santa Ana Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian accident around 1:00 p.m. For an unknown reason, a driver struck a 25-year-old female pedestrian walking in a crosswalk as the driver turned left onto MacArthur Boulevard.
Subsequently, paramedics arrived and rushed her to an area hospital where she passed away. Authorities did not release her name. After the crash, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
Officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have factored into the accident. However, they will investigate further to identify what happened.
