Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 101 in Templeton

 
TEMPLETON, CA (May 18, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Highway 101 near Main Street early Tuesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 2:19 a.m. on Highway 101. For reasons that require further investigation, a 25-year-old Atascadero resident entered the highway into the path of an oncoming 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The 32-year-old driver from Atascadero was unable to stop or take evasive action in time. As a result, the Tacoma hit the pedestrian.
 
The victim suffered fatal injuries in the crash, and officials have not yet released the person’s name. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma stayed for the investigation, which later proved that alcohol and drugs did not play a factor.
