Two-Vehicle Accident on Solano Avenue in Vallejo Leaves 1 Driver Dead

 
VALLEJO, CA (July 23, 2024) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident on Solano Avenue in Vallejo late Friday afternoon on July 19.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:18 p.m. just east of Shasta Street. According to the Vallejo Police Department, a 2015 Infiniti Q50 was traveling westbound on Solano Avenue. At the same time, a 2013 Hyundai Accent was heading southbound on Shasta Street.
 
While the Hyundai was crossing Solano Avenue heading to Mayo Avenue, the Infiniti struck the Hyundai at the intersection.
 
As a result of the crash, the adult male driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai suffered critical injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he later died.
 
The adult male driver of the Infiniti was unharmed. He remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The Solano County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office is holding the deceased’s name pending notification of next of kin.

Police said drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
