Morning Crarsh Involving Three Vehicles on 5 Freeway in Chula Vista Turns Deadly

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (August 12, 2024) – At least one person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in Chula Vista Sunday morning on August 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:21 a.m. just south of Palomar Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a maroon SUV and two other vehicles collided along the northbound lanes of the freeway.
 
First responders found one person trapped inside one of the vehicles.
 
At least one fatality was reported as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim was withheld pending confirmation and family notification.
