Pedestrian Walking on Highway 101 in Salinas Dies after Struck by Vehicle
SALINAS, CA (September 26, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in Salinas on Saturday morning, September 24.
The fatal accident happened around 5:49 a.m. near the John Street off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking on the highway when a vehicle struck them.
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
It is unknown if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
No other information available at this time. The CHP is still investigating the fatality.
