Early Morning Multi-Vehicle Crash on San Diego Freeway in Dana Point Leaves 1 Dead

 
DANA POINT, CA (February 13, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on San Diego (5) Freeway in Dana Point early Sunday morning on February 123.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:00 a.m., just south of Camino De Estrella. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, at least three vehicles collided along the northbound freeway for unknown reasons. One of the vehicles had overturned on its roof.
 
When officers arrived, they confirmed one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
Paramedics rushed two other people to a trauma center with unspecified injuries.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
