Early Morning Pedestrian Crash on 880 Freeway in Fremont Turns Deadly

 
FREMONT, CA (May 18, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 880 Freeway early Wednesday morning on May 17.
 
The fatal accident happened around 12:15 a.m. along the northbound side of the freeway, also known as the Nimitz Freeway.
 
CHP officials did not provide details of how the crash occurred, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Crews shut down all but the far left northbound lane while they worked on the wreckage.
 
The California Highway Patrol are still investigating the circumstances of this fatality.
