Fiery Crash Involving Passenger Vehicle and Semi Truck on 5 Freeway in Mokelumne City Leaves One Person Dead

 
MOKELUMNE CITY, CA (January 22, 2025) – One person was killed in a fiery accident on 5 Freeway north of Mokelumne City Tuesday morning on January 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a passenger vehicle crashed into a semi truck that was stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound freeway.
 
The impact caused both vehicles to catch fire.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Their identity was not immediately available.

At this time, the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
