One Dies in Accident on Highway 4 near 680 Freeway [Martinez, CA]

Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 4 in Martinez

 
MARTINEZ, CA (February 3, 2021) – One person died in an accident on Highway 4 on January 18.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just past the turnoff to 680 Freeway at about 10:47 PM.
 
Based on a report, two pickup trucks crashed in the lanes. Based on a report, a driver lost control of a Ford F-150, causing it to overturn. Subsequently, another Ford F-150 collided with it.
 
As a result, medical personnel confirmed that the driver of the first truck died in the incident. Officials only identified him as a 59-year-old Antioch man. The driver of the second truck suffered only minor injuries.
 
At this time, the CHP is investigating the accident on Highway 4. However, local officials have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were a cause of the commotion.
