Officer Aiding Police Chase Involved in Manning Avenue Accident in Reedley

 
REEDLEY, CA (January 7, 2025) — An officer responding to a police chase and two people were injured in an accident at Manning Avenue and Frankwood Avenue.
 
According to Reedley Police Department officers, the two-vehicle incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday. It started when an officer tried to pull over a man suspected of DUI. When the alleged DUI driver failed to stop, a chase unfolded.
 
From there, a Reedley Police officer tried to assist with the pursuit but collided with an SUV injuring the two occupants inside. The officer also suffered minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver in pursuit fled into an apartment complex near Carob Avenue and Hollywood Drive and abandoned his vehicle. Near his apartment, the suspect fought an officer; however, the officer tased him until additional units arrived to arrest him.
 
At this time, both incidents are under investigation.
