Nicholas Karaberis Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Decoto Road near Brookmill Drive

 
FREMONT, CA (December 27, 2024) — Nicholas Karaberis died in a pedestrian accident on Decoto Road near Brookmill Drive early Saturday.
 
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office identified the 31-year-old fatal victim as Nicholas David Karaberis, of Hayward. Under unclear circumstances, an eastbound driver on Decoto Road struck Karaberis outside a marked crosswalk. A preliminary investigation determined that he was attempting to cross the road.
 
Following the crash, the driver stopped and waited for the authorities to arrive. Traffic detectives ruled out drugs or alcohol as possible factors in the accident.
