Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck on Highway 78 in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (February 4, 2025) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 78 in San Marcos early Monday morning on February 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:33 a.m. just west of the Rancho Santa Fe Road exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white pickup truck and a motorcycle collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn.
 
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved are still under investigation.
