Motorcycle Rider Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Tampa Avenue in Northridge
NORTHRIDGE, CA (August 12, 2024) – A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Tampa Avenue and Plummer Street in Northridge late Friday evening.
The fatal crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on August 9. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the motorcyclist was riding east on Tampa Avenue when a vehicle traveling south on Plummer Street struck them.
After the crash, the man driving the vehicle fled south on Plummer without stopping.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. The department’s West Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
