40-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing Head-On with Pickup Truck on Highway 18 in Lake Arrowhead
LAKE ARROWHEAD, CA (September 24, 2024) – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 18 in the Lake Arrowhead area Monday morning on September 23.
The fatal accident happened around 5:42 a.m. just north of Rim of the World Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 40-year-old man from Running Springs was riding a 2020 Indian motorcycle southbound on Highway 18. At the same time, a 20-year-old Running Springs man was driving a black 2018 GMC pickup truck northbound.
For unknow reasons, the motorcyclist veered from the southbound lane into the northbound lane. He then collided head-on with the pickup truck.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. CHP officials urged anyone with further information to contact Officer C. Bates at the CHP Arrowhead Area Office at 909-867-2791.
