Motorcycle Rider Killed in Big Rig Crash on 580 Freeway near Hopyard Road

 
PLEASANTON, CA (March 3, 2022) — A motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries in a big rig accident on 580 Freeway on Wednesday, March 2.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Tyler Hahn, the incident happened at around 7:50 a.m. just west of Hopyard Road.
 
The motorcyclist died after the incident. Officials said there’s possibly another vehicle involved aside from the big rig and motorcycle.
 
There are no reports of how the crash transpired and if impairment played a role.
 
Officers issued a Sig-alert and temporarily blocked the left two lanes on westbound Highway 580.
 
CHP officials suggested motorists use the 680 Freeway or state Highway 84 as alternate routes.
