Man Riding His Moped Dies after Struck by DUI Driver on Paradise Valley Road in Bay Terraces
BAY TERRACES, CA (May 29, 2023) – A moped rider was killed in a DUI crash on Paradise Valley Road in Bay Terraces late Thursday evening on May 25.
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 40-year-old man was riding his moped near the 7100 block of Paradise Valley Road. At that same time, a 66-year-old man was driving his 2016 Nissan Maxima when the driver did not see the moped and struck it from behind just after 11:00 p.m.
The moped rider was ejected and died at the scene.
Police arrested the driver of the Maxima on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation into this crash is underway. Police urged witnesses to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
