ATV Crash in Hayfork Area Kills Two Vacaville Men

 
HAYFORK, CA (September 23, 2024) – Michael Cagnina and Bobby Jones were killed in an ATV accident in the Hayfork area of Trinity County Saturday afternoon on September 21.
 
The accident happened around 12:44 p.m. on Forest Service Road, just north of Carr Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the two were traveling eastbound when they allowed the ATV to leave the forest road and overturn down an embankment. The ATV then collided with a tree.
 
First responders pronounced Cagnina dead at the scene. He was a 65-year-old Vacaville resident.
 
Jones, a 47-year-old Vacaville resident, also died at the scene.
 
It was unclear who was driving the ATV at the time of the crash.
 
The CHP said intoxication was not a suspected factor. The crash is still under investigation.
