47-Year-Old Man Dies after Crash with Another Vehicle in Oakland
OAKLAND, CA (January 30, 2025) – Maurice Senegal was killed in a two-vehicle accident in West Oakland early Sunday morning on January 26.
The fatal accident happened around 8:43 a.m. on Linden Street at West Grand Avenue. According to the Oakland Police Department, Senegal was driving a Volvo sedan northbound on Linden Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign. A Mitsubishi Montero SUV that was heading eastbound on West Grand Avenue then struck his car at the intersection.
As a result of the crash, Senegal suffered significant injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. He was a 47-year-old San Francisco resident.
The SUV driver, an Oakland man, was unharmed. He remained at the scene and cooperated with traffic investigators.
It is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is underway.
