Matthew Jackson Charged, 7 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Multi-Car Crash at Butterfield Stage Road and Channel Street

 
TEMECULA, CA (May 28, 2024)Matthew Jackson faces hit-and-run charges following a multi-car accident at Butterfield Stage Road and Channel Street.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the multi-car crash happened around 7:00 p.m. Sunday. For DUI reasons, 36-year-old Matthew Thomas Jackson ran a red traffic light. Subsequently, his southbound vehicle entered the intersection and struck multiple cars heading westbound on Channel Street on a green light.
 
Seconds after the crash, the Temecula man reportedly left on foot, leaving seven people with minor to major injuries. Emergency personnel took four people to a hospital for treatment and treated three of the outstanding at the scene.
 
Not long after, deputies found Jackson and booked him in for hit-and-run and DUI.
