Marcques Mena Dead, Jose Perez-Villafuerte Arrested in Street Racing Crash on Cactus Avenue near Mallory Drive

 
RIALTO, CA (December 3, 2024) — Marcques Mena died in a street racing accident on Cactus Avenue near Mallory Drive.
 
According to officials, the fatal high-speed crash happened around 10:35 p.m. Sunday. The Rialto Police Department received word of a single-car crash in the 1400 block of South Cactus Avenue. Upon dispatch, they found a 19-year-old white Mustang driver — Marcques Mena — with life-threatening injuries. Just roughly 10 minutes later, the Rialto victim passed away at the scene. Two others inside his car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were brought to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
 
According to an investigation, 24-year-old Jose Perez-Villafuerte, of Fontana, approached Mena’s white Ford at the intersection with San Bernardino Avenue. Both Ford Mustangs began illegally street racing southbound on Cactus Avenue before Mena lost control and crashed into a tree.
 
Perez-Villafuerte took off from the scene until police found and arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Now, Perez-Villafuerte remains incarcerated at San Bernardino County jail with a $60,000 bill.
