Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Car on Avenue 12 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (July 22, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Avenue 12 near Road 25.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a man and a woman dressed in dark clothing were crossing Avenue 12 at the time. Subsequently, a 44-year-old man driving a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado struck the pair during dark road conditions.
 
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and took the 24-year-old female from Clovis to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The man, however, passed away at the scene. Authorities did not release his identity.
 
After the crash, police interviewed the driver and ruled out DUI as a possible factor.
