Two-Vehicle Accident on Las Palmas Avenue in Stanislaus County Kills Patterson Man
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 30, 2023) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Los Palmas Avenue in Stanislaus County Tuesday night on July 25.
The fatal accident shortly after 6:00 p.m. just east of Sycamore Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Toyota pickup truck westbound on Las Palmas Avenue. At the same time, a 22-year-old Patterson woman was driving a Toyota Camry behind the pickup.
For unknown reasons, the driver of the pickup suddenly stopped. The woman driving the Camry tried to stop but hit the back of the pickup.
The impact caused the pickup to spin off into the shoulder and crash into a tree.
The driver of the pickup suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was only identified as a 60-year-old Patterson resident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Camry was unharmed.
CHP said neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
