Man Dead in Tulare County Two-Car Crash on Avenue 229
TULARE COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2021) — A man died in a two-car accident on Avenue 229 near Road 48 Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 3:45 p.m. For reasons that require under investigation, a man allowed his silver Saturn to travel off the road while heading east. Yet subsequently, he veered back on the street, lost control and spun out before hitting a Buick Regal traveling in the other direction.
As a result of the accident, the Saturn car caught on fire. However, a passerby became successful in pulling the driver from the burning car, but the man died at the scene.
Soon after, paramedics arrived and transported the female driver of the Buick to a hospital.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the circumstances and cause of the collision. Although, if anyone has more to add, please contact the CHP.
