Man Killed in Rear-End Accident at Menifee Road and Highway 74 [Menifee, CA]

Driver Dies after Rear-Ending into Tractor Trailer on Menifee Road

 
MENIFEE, CA (October 11, 2024) – A man died in a rear-end accident at Menifee Road and Highway 74 on Wednesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on October 9. According to the Menifee Police Department, the man was driving a pickup truck eastbound when he plowed into the rear of a tractor trailer.
 
It was unclear whether the big rig was in motion or stopped at the time.
 
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and gave aid to the pickup truck driver. The driver appeared to have suffered a medical emergency and became unresponsive.
 
Paramedics then took the patient to a regional trauma center, where he died a short time later.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the big rig was unharmed.
 
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. An investigation is underway.
