Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Passing Vehicle on State Street in San Jacinto

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (January 5, 2025) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on State Street in San Jacinto Thursday night on January 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:12 p.m. just south of Ramona Boulevard. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the male pedestrian was standing on the side of the road and fell into the roadway, where he was struck by a passing vehicle.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with deputies.
 
It was unclear what caused the victim to fall into the street.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
