Pedestrian Struck Dead in Laguna Beach Accident on Laguna Canyon Road
LAGUNA BEACH, CA (September 9, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Laguna Canyon Road near Highway 73 Thursday morning.
According to the Laguna Beach Police Department, the pedestrian crash happened around 5:00 a.m. For an unknown reason, a driver struck the 33-year-old male pedestrian in the 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Road. Subsequently, officers responded to the scene just east of Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and found the victim dead at the scene.
It appears the accident happened as the victim was outside of a crosswalk walking toward a shelter for transients.
Due to the accident, police closed Laguna Canyon Road for three hours to investigate. Authorities did not provide information on the driver involved or the cause of the accident. However, if anyone has information, contact Laguna Beach Police.
