Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV on Fifth Street in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (February 18, 2025) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Fifth Street in Oxnard early Sunday morning on February 16.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 5:00 a.m. near Rose Avenue. According to the Oxnard Police Department, a Honda Pilot was traveling east on Fifth Street when it struck the male pedestrian who was walking outside a marked crosswalk.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian fatal injuries and he died at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the SUV, a 29-year-old Oxnard resident, stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.

Excessive speed and impairment with alcohol or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash, police said.
