Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in San Juan Capistrano

 
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (October 9, 2023) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in San Juan Capistrano Saturday evening on October 7.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:42 p.m. along the southbound freeway, just south of Camino Capistrano. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Nissan pickup truck and a gold Toyota sedan reportedly collided and were on the right shoulder.
 
When officers arrived, they confirmed that a 19-year-old male pedestrian was killed in the crash.
 
It was unclear whether the man who was killed had exited one of the vehicles and was struck by another vehicle.
 
The circumstances of this fatality remain under investigation.
