Multiple Vehicles Involved in Fatal Accident on 5 Freeway in Carlsbad
CARLSBAD, CA (April 8, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a car accident on 5 Freeway on April 4.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Busch Drive around 4:46 AM.
Based on a report, the victim’s northbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra veered into the center divider. Subsequently, it spun out, ejecting the driver from the car. Afterwards, a 2015 Volkswagen Passat and 2018 Honda Accord struck the man and the Hyundai.
As a result, the 23-year-old male died in the incident. Officials did not yet release his name pending notification of next of kin. The drivers of the Volkswagen and Honda suffered minor injuries. Emergency crews treated at the scene.
