Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 27, 2024) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield Tuesday night on June 25.
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 pm. at the intersection with Allen Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle southbound in the west crosswalk of the intersection when a vehicle heading eastbound on Stockdale Highway struck him.
The impact caused the victim fatal injuries and he died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once his family members are properly notified.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
