Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Volkswagen on Camino Del Sur in Black Mountain Ranch Area

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 24, 2024) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Camino Del Sur in the Black Mountain Ranch area of San Diego Friday evening on November 22.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 50-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Volkswagen EOS westbound on Camino Del Sur shortly before 7:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, the driver crossed the intersection with Casey Glen and went into the bike lane. She then struck the man who was riding his bicycle.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which is under investigation. They asked anyone with further information to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
