Wrong-Way Driver Causes Crash on West Puente Avenue in West Covina Killing One Passenger

 
WEST COVINA, CA (February 23, 2025) – A man died and four other people were injured in a wrong-way accident on West Puente Avenue in West Covina early Friday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly after 12:15 a.m. on February 21, just between North Orange Avenue and North Sunset Avenue. According to the West Covina Police Department, a male driver of a black Toyota sedan was traveling the wrong way when he collided head-on with a white Honda sedan.
 
As a result of the crash, the male passenger in the Honda’s backseat died at the scene.
 
Three other passengers of the Honda, two men and a woman, were taken to a nearby hospital with various injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the wrong-way driver was listed in critical condition.
