Man Hospitalized After Big Rig and Car Collide on North Avenue in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 10, 2024) — A man suffered severe injuries after a semi-truck crashed into his car on North Avenue at Chestnut Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 8:00 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a westbound semi-truck collided with a northbound Nissan at the intersection. Subsequently, paramedics responded and found the car pinned by the big rig against a pole. Due to the driver’s condition, emergency personnel ushered the car driver, a man in his 50s, to a hospital with non-life-threatening moderate injuries. As for the truck driver, a man in his 30s, he evaded harm.
 
Following the incident, traffic investigators canvassed the scene for details on the cause. However, they have not confirmed the ultimate cause and if impairment played a part.
