Pedestrian Struck in Third Avenue Accident in Chula Vista
CHULA VISTA, CA (January 24, 2025) — A man suffered an injury in a pedestrian accident at Third Avenue and Palomar Street Tuesday evening.
The Chula Vista Police Department responded to an accident report around 5:20 p.m. Upon dispatch, officers learned that a 2012 Nissan Leaf driver hit a 42-year-old man. Following the accident, paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he remains in stable condition.
According to an investigation, the Nissan driver heading southbound struck the pedestrian in a crosswalk who was walking against a red hand signal.
After the crash, the 23-year-old woman pulled over and waited for authorities. Officers did not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the accident, but an investigation is underway. Those with information can call police at 619-476-5302.
