Man Hurt in Motorcycle Crash on Otay Mesa Road in San Ysidro

 
SAN YSIDRO, CA (November 18, 2022) — A man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Otay Mesa Road at Beyer Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the motorcycle crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 44-year-old on-duty Customs and Border Protection agent made a left turn into an oncoming motorcyclist’s path. As a result, the 56-year-old man operating the southbound motorcycle on Otay Mesa Road struck the car’s right side door.
 
In the investigation, police learned that the rider had a green traffic light at the time of the crash.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and took the motorcyclist to a hospital for treatment of a fractured pelvis, dislocated femur, fractured right patella and pain in both upper arms.
 
At this time, police do not suspect drugs or alcohol in the accident. Although, the San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating this case more closely.
