LOS ANGELES, CA (December 27, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident at 81st Street and Hoover Street.
 
According to authorities, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 7:00 p.m. Sunday in Vermont Knolls. For an unknown reason, a driver struck a 61-year-old male pedestrian crossing eastbound on 81st Street. Authorities learned that he was struck midway across the crosswalk.
 
Following the accident, the driver stopped and called for help. Paramedics arrived moments later and took the victim to a hospital where he died.
 
The Los Angeles Police did not say what led to the accident but confirmed they made no arrests.
