Man Killed in Overturned Off-Roading Crash on Kern Canyon Road in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 19, 2024) — A man died in an overturned off-roading accident on Kern Canyon Road near Highway 178.
The Bakersfield Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident. Upon arriving in the 11000 block of Kern Canyon Road, officers found a male passenger of an off-road vehicle deceased at the scene.
Authorities investigated the crash and interviewed the driver to learn that the four-seater off-road car was traveling up a hill but struck a rut and flipped over. Police confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol factored into the accident.
At this time, the Kern County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the victim pending notification of family members.
