1 Killed After Semi-Truck Hits Another on Highway 99 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (July 26, 2024) — A man died after two semi-trucks crashed on Highway 99 near Avenue 9 Thursday.
 
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the deadly truck accident Thursday afternoon. They learned that a northbound big rig hauling baby carrots at an unknown speed left the road and struck another tractor-trailer combination carrying vehicles on a hauler.
 
The impact caused a blue pickup truck resting on the hauler to fall onto the driver, who had pulled over prior to work on his trailer.
 
Shortly after, CHP officers and paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed one fatality. Authorities did not release the victim’s name. As for the driver of the big rig carrying carrots, he claimed no injuries.
 
Authorities are working to investigate the ultimate cause of the accident. If anyone has seen this crash, contact the CHP.
