Man Suffers Critical Injuries after Struck by Car on East Gonzales Road in Oxnard
OXNARD, CA (March 4, 2025) – A man was critically injured after being hit by a car on East Gonzales Road in Oxnard Sunday evening on March 2.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at Rose Avenue. According to the Oxnard Police Department, a 61-year-old Oxnard man was driving eastbound on Gonzales Road when he struck the victim who was walking outside of a marked crosswalk.
As a result, the victim suffered major injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
Excessive speed, drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
