Cyclist Fatally Hit by Vehicle on Highway 101 in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 23, 2024) — A man on a bike was hit and killed by a car on Highway 101 near Silver Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly bicycle accident happened early Saturday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a Chevy Tahoe struck the male cyclist along southbound Highway 101. Subsequently, CHP officers responded near the Silver Avenue off-ramp and interviewed the driver who they believe was not intoxicated.
Tragically, the cyclist who remains unidentified and only described as an adult between 30 and 35 years old passed away in the accident.
Due to the investigation, officers closed the area before reopening it around 5:30 a.m.
