Rollover Crash Involving Two Vehicles on 15 Freeway in Hesperia Critically Injures One Driver
HESPERIA, CA (August 25, 2024) – A man was airlifted in a rollover accident involving two vehicles on 15 Freeway in Hesperia early Saturday morning on August 24.
The accident happened around 12:22 a.m. just south of Bear Valley Road. According to the CHP, a white 2006 Pontiac G6 made an unsafe left turn and collided with a silver 2023 Nissan Rogue. Both vehicles then drifted left and hit the center divider, causing both drivers to lose control.
The Pontiac overturned on its wheels within the lanes. The Rogue drifted to the right shoulder, crashed into a concrete culvert and landed on its roof.
Responding officers found a male in his 20s unresponsive in the traffic lanes. He was the driver of the Pontiac.
San Bernardino County Fire Department crews requested a helicopter to land along the northbound 15 Freeway. The helicopter then took the driver of the Pontiac to Loma Linda Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the Rogue were not injured.
Officers said there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They asked witnesses to contact the Victorville CHP Area office at 760-241-1186.
