29-Year-Old Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Sedan in Long Beach, Driver Flees Scene
LONG BEACH, CA (July 30, 2023) – Leobardo Cervantes was killed in a bicycle hit-and-run crash in Long Beach earlier this month on July 9.
The fatal crash happened around 7:55 a.m. near California Avenue and Harding Street. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Cervantes was riding his bicycle when a dark-colored sedan speeding eastbound on Harding struck him.
The driver of the sedan did not stop after the crash.
Responding paramedics rushed Cervantes to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Cervantes was 29 years old from Long Beach, authorities said.
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
