Katherine Vogts, Brandt Celli and Maria Reyes Die After Motorcycle Strikes Pedestrian on Highway 111 near Simon Drive

 
LA QUINTA, CA (May 17, 2024)Katherine Vogts died after attempting to help another after a motorcycle struck a pedestrian on Highway 111 near Simon Drive.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the tragic accident happened around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, an eastbound motorcycle struck a pedestrian in the road. Subsequently, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes.
 
Moments later, several Good Samaritans rushed to help the injured victims. However, a westbound white Chevy pickup struck the motorcyclist on the ground and Katherine Vogts, one of the Good Samaritans.
 
Tragically, three people died in this accident: 47-year-old Vogts, 26-year-old Brandt Celli and 33-year-old Maria Reyes. Reports confirmed that the pedestrian and the motorcyclist were among those killed.
