18-Year-Old Passenger Dies after Car Overturns in San Juan Bautista

 
SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, CA (January 30, 2025) – Julie Ochoa was killed in a rollover accident in San Juan Bautista late Tuesday afternoon on January 28.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:03 p.m. on San Justo Road, just east of San Juan Highway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a car was traveling eastbound when it lost control. It then crossed the opposing lanes and overturned in a dirt field.
 
Ochoa was the front passenger of the car. She suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was an 18-year-old Merced resident, according to the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office.
 
The driver and left-rear passenger were airlifted to a nearby hospital with major injuries.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
