Jose Valdivia Detained in Police Pursuit Accident at Center Avenue and Bridge Street

VISALIA, CA (July 11, 2023) — Jose Valdivia faces multiple charges following a police chase crash at Center Avenue and Bridge Street Saturday.

According to the Visalia Police, the incident started around 4:40 p.m. Saturday. Officers spotted a driver moving recklessly near Demaree Street and Howard Avenue. From there, a chase ensued as 21-year-old Jose Reyes Valdivia refused to pull over.

Valdivia took officers on a pursuit near Noble Avenue and Mooney Boulevard, where police abandoned the chase due to public safety reasons. By the time Valdivia reached Center Drive and Bridge Street, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Although he tried to flee from officers, Valdivia did not get far. Police arrested him and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, felony evading, domestic violence and resisting arrest. Officers also took him to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
