Jose Martinez Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 53rd Street and Figueroa Street

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (February 14, 2025) — Jose Martinez died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 51st Street and Figueroa Street.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run happened on January 7 around 7:21 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a northbound silver Porsche Cayenne struck 40-year-old Martinez in a marked crosswalk on Figueroa Street.
 
Subsequently, the motorist left the scene without helping. When officers arrived, Martinez passed away from his injuries.
