Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Sedan in Thousand Oaks

 
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (June 17, 2024) – Jose Luis Diaz Cruz was killed in a motorcycle accident in Thousand Oaks late Friday evening on June 14.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Cruz was riding his motorcycle southbound on Westlake Boulevard when he collided with a sedan traveling on Hillcrest Drive.
 
The impact ejected Cruz from his motorcycle.
 
Deputies attempted life-saving measures at the scene. Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed Cruz to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, where he died a short time later.
 
Cruz was 21 years old of Oxnard, the sheriff’s office confirmed.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries.
 
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
