Ceres Man Dies after Struck by Several Hit-and-Run Drivers on Highway 99 near Taylor Road

 
TURLOCK, CA (August 23, 2024) – Jonathan McKnight was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Turlock late Wednesday evening on August 21.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:55 p.m. on Highway 99, just south of Taylor Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, McKnight was running across the highway when he was struck by several passing vehicles.
 
Responding emergency personnel pronounced McKnight dead at the scene.
 
The victim was a 35-year-old Ceres resident.
 
Officers said the involved vehicles did not stop after the crash.
 
An investigation is underway. The Modesto CHP office asked for anyone with information on this case to call Officer Mitchell at 209-545-7440.
