Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Crash on 8 Freeway in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (April 14, 2021) – Huy Dang was killed in a wrong-way accident on 8 Freeway in El Cajon early Saturday morning, April 10.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:05 a.m. The 59-year-old man was driving a sedan in the westbound lanes of the freeway when a speeding wrong-way driver struck his car head-on.
 
As a result, Dang suffered multiple blunt force injuries and died at the scene.
 
The condition of the wrong-way driver was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
