Frank Cardenas and Alex Cardenas Killed in Rollover Accident on Yucca Street [Hesperia, CA]

Speeding Car Overturns near Hesperia Residence Killing Driver and Passenger

 
HESPERIA, CA (June 20, 2024) – Frank Cardenas and Alex Cardenas were killed in a rollover accident in Hesperia Wednesday afternoon on June 19.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:05 p.m. on Yucca Street near Roble Avenue. According to the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station, Alex was driving a blue 2002 Mini Cooper with Frank as his passenger. He was heading east on Yucca Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and went off the roadway.
 
The car then crashed through a chain-link fence, rolled over several times before coming to rest in the front yard of a nearby residence. It struck the fascia and roof of a home.
 
During the crash, Frank was ejected a significant distance from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 46-year-old Hesperia resident.

San Bernardino County Fire Department crews located Alex near the Mini Cooper. They rushed him to Desert Valley Hospital in critical condition.

Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Alex did not survive and also succumbed to his injuries. He was 44 years old of Hesperia.

It is still unknown if drugs and/or alcohol played a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
